HAVING THE MEMORY OF A MAMMOTH...the effects of stress on memory

DESCRIPTION In this conference, Ms. Lupien will teach the fundamentals of human memory. Participants will be asked to partake in a few memory tests in order to positively demonstrate how “performing” is not as easy as it looks. Subsequently, Ms. Lupien will provide a brief description of the stress response and will demonstrate how stress can affect memory by modifying the perception of important events recorded in our memories. The participant therefore realizes that the best solution for preventing the effects of stress on the memory is to reduce stress! In conclusion, participants will be exposed to the effective tools necessary to help control the stress response.
